Animals are becoming endangered more and more every year. They become endangered by the destruction of habitats and the selling of their body parts on the black market. Also on top of being killed, animals die from disease, pollution, and natural causes. If we don't fix this problem then wildlife as we know it will be gone.

ReplyDeletewhat are some ways to protect the animals and will people respect those laws?
To Murphy: I agree with you they are the closest to extinction.
ReplyDeleteI had no idea how many animals were being hunted for meat, medicinal resources, etc. It said there are less than 700,000 African elephants left in the wild. Do you know how many there were before, and therefore about how many have been hunted?
ReplyDeleteTo Jordan: Well ya see jordan some ways to protect this animals would be to put them on the endangered animals list. This would not allow people to hunt these animals unless it was illegally. Other ways are to put them on preserves and protect them from danger. Not everyone is going to follow these laws but it would help.
ReplyDeleteTo Meryl: I don't know how many there were before but it was more then 700,000. Around 23,000 elephants are killed each year.

How can we help them? most of them are so aggressive no one can get near them without getting hurt or killed themselves. We can make the areas they live in no hunting area, but who is going to listen to that? But there has to be at least one safe way to save them before they are all gone and there is no wild life at all
ReplyDeleteYes this sucks and we should do something to fix it, but how is them being used for medicinal purposes any different than animal testing for medical purposes? It's wrong, but it's basically the same thing, only these animals are being helped more because they don't reproduce as fast as rats or other lab animals. Rather than making laws just for endangered animals wouldn't it be more productive to make laws that cover the ethical treating of all animals? If we just focus on the endangered animals then more animals will get ignored, and might get closer to being endangers. We need to fix it, but we also need to prevent it.
ReplyDeletePutting the animals on the endangered list is probaly the best thats going to be done because one can't arrest every single person that illegally hunts animals.
ReplyDeleteTo Ashlee: They have special tools that they use to put these animals to sleep so they can move them from place to place to put them in safer areas
ReplyDeleteIf there are so many animals getting killed in Africa why cant they increase the laws and enforcement to protect them.
ReplyDeleteTo Katrina: yes I agree we should treat all animals the same and try to save other animals before they become endangered of extinct in this case
ReplyDeleteDo you have any suggestions on how to protect the animals and their habitats?
ReplyDeleteTo Adeline: We have to set laws and make people follow them and if they don't make them pay for their mistakes
ReplyDeleteHow is the black market so large if it is illegal activity? Is anybody even watching it and trying to enforce?
